Stormrage author Richard A. Knaak is New York Time bestselling author of Warcraft novels and short stories. Reading through the bonus chapter titled Teldrassil, we got a vivid appreciation of the high priestess Tyrande’s affection for the dying Malfurion. It’s romantic, bordering on overdramatic, but a great read for those cold Tuesday maintenance nights. The Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection is on sale on the official website; it contains the original game, four expansions and three add-on scenarios. It’s basically everything that the game has come out with until now all in one DVD. They’ve even thrown in a bonus Nexus Cape, which lets characters in a party to teleport to their party leader’s location. Not a magical taxi (it’s restricted to select places) but very handy for getting around the huge world of Vana’diel.

A new developer interview revealed additional features being worked into the alternate advancement system in the Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer expansion. The AoC system will allow toons to earn three kinds of points: Prowess, Mastery and Expertise. These points can be used to enhance the combat and non-combat experience by purchasing Feats and Perks. We think the system is exciting in terms of balance because PvP and PvE earns separate points, so gamers can choose the playstyle they enjoy and have an incentive to hone their skills in that field.

Double Experience Weekend in Aion

Aion is rocking another Double Experience Weekend starting Friday (Feb 26) at 8pm server time. Daevas can fill out their experience bars at twice the rate until Monday (Feb 29) at 8am server time. That’s two and half days of quicker leveling for those catching up to the level 50 cap. If you plan on maximizing this perk, then it’s best to lay down those sleeping mats beside the PC to minimize the travel time from sleep to play.
